Stitching Lines Giveaway
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love Stitching Lines. I've used them several times, they make half square triangles a breeze instead of a chore. Click on the link, there is even a tutorial showing how easy they are to use.
Mary at Marin & Colusa is having a giveaway. Go check it out, she is giving away five packages of Stitching Lines. I so want to win this one, I'm almost out.

Life is rough around here.
I finished putting the yellow on all of the rectangle squares last weekend, today I finished the quilt center. The picture I took today looked almost like the one I took last weekend. I know how to fix the problem...add a cute cat.
The boys were not moving. Note the raggedy sheet, those two shed A LOT.

What happened?
I was all set to work on the Jared Takes a Wife blocks, but first I thought I'd put a few yellow strips on the rectangle blocks I put together a few weeks ago. Just to see if I was going to like it.
Two hours later I ran out of yellow strips. Why am I always running out of pieces and parts for quilts? I know somewhere in this house there is more of the yellow fabric but I could not find it anywhere. Luckily I just bought this fabric last week and I know the shop has lots of it. I wish the colors showed up better - this yellow is so soft and pretty, it is a Kona Cotton, the color is Buttercup.
Alias, poor Jared will have to wait for his wife.

Friday Night Sew In
I've got all my pieces and parts stacked up ready to go into production mode.

These are the half squares that I've cut off the star points...would you make anything out of them?
I'm going to have a lot of them once I finish making 30 blocks - 240 cream and purple, 240 gold and purple. They will finish at about 3/4 inch. I think I'm nuts even contemplating making something out of them.

GO! check it out
Karen at Sew Many Ways is giving away an Accuquilt Go Fabric Cutter...go check out the cute candy corn Halloween pouches she made with the tumbler die. She has also posted a tutorial to make them.
I'm tired of sewing together pieces and parts, so here are a few of my Jared Takes a Wife blocks.

I'm going to use the gold in the stars as the sashing. See the green fabric in the center of the block? That green fabric was suppose to be the corner stones of the sashing. It is now in the border of the green and cream quilt...Oops. Forgot I wasn't suppose to use it. I need to start digging through my scrap bag to see if there is any left...but I'm pretty sure I used it all up. Boogers!

Bad in a good way
Nancy belongs to one of the local quilt guilds, her guild had a flea market last night along with their regular guild meeting. Guild members could rent a table for a small fee then sell whatever they wanted. Guests (me) were invited to attend.
There were some great deals! I bought over 10 yards of fabric and two books for an embarrassingly small sum. No guilt at all for buying fabric.
And the floral stripe...it matches a kit I have, there is enough there to make a back for the quilt...lots of motivation to get the kit made.
I was tempted to buy a lot more, but there is a point where a good deal becomes bad.
