Lots of sewing got done yesterday.

No pieced border, but I did change the borders from what the pattern had. I really like how it turned out.

I also got the back pieced and the binding ready to go. Hopefully this week I will have time to get it pin basted. I think I'm going to do a simple meander in the center...maybe add a few leaves in.

I started sewing together the blocks for another quilt. I cut this out last February. The colors look dull in this pictures, the fabrics are really bright and colorful. Now I need to decide on a sashing fabric...I'm thinking about a kelly green for the sashing.

And more green...these are the corners of the Jared Takes a Wife quilt.

She almost did it

I am going to put three border on the quilt, I did get the first border on and two sides of the second.

Part of me really wants to put a pieced border on this quilt. The borders I'm going to add are nice but not overly interesting. Another part of me wants to get this done and doesn't want to go back to the cutting table. Goal for today...finish adding the borders.

Join the Party

Wow! Everyone is joining in on the fun...this time I am not missing it. I'm on my way to the sewing room. Goal for the evening: sew the last two rows on the green quilt and at least two borders. Can she do it?

Getting closer to done

Below is the green and cream quilt laid out on the floor. The blocks are sewn together in four's.

I have three out five rows sewn together. The strips for the border are cut out but I think I may change my mind about them...I planned on doing a 1.5 inch green border, a 5 inch cream border then bind it in green. But I'm leaning toward starting with a 1.5 cream border followed by the green and cream borders. I'll lay it out again after the center is finished then decide.

I am really liking this quilt.

Giveaway alert

Check it out, Mary at Marin & Colusa Quilting is having a giveaway.

Lovely wool felt (don't ya love the colors) and two patterns. Check out the rest of her blog also, she is making a to-die-for half square diamond scrap quilt that I have fallen in love with.

Lots of Green

No, not the kind with Ben or George on them, the fabric kind. Remember all those green fabrics I cut up, and all the chains I made (see gratuitous cat picture below).

They are beginning to look like this...

Still have a ways to go but I'm really liking this quilt.

One too few

Yup, one too few, it figures. I dug through my scrap bag and found pieces and parts to make up the two half blocks. I'll show you the finished blocks tomorrow.

This is the other quilt Nancy worked on Sunday. The pattern is called Walk About by Grizzly Gulch Gallery with a slight tweak, she framed the large focal fabric blocks.

These are the squares laid out on my floor...note: not a cat in sight, very strange. Nancy put the center together before she left my house that afternoon.

Not a good sign

One of each...I either made one too many or one too few...guess which.

Finally Finished

Lot of sewing occurred at my house today, I'm not going to show it to you all at once...mostly because I thought it would be nice if I posted more than once this week.

I finally finished my last "have to", well actually I have one more but it is officially and intentionally becoming a UFO.

I had this boxed up and ready for shipping within a half hour of finishing it.

Nancy brought her latest Turning Twenty quilt for show and tell. The picture doesn't do this quilt justice, it is so cool and refreshing - perfect for the 98 degrees we had here today. She put the back together today.

She finished the center on another quilt, I'll show it later this week.
