I finished the center of the Island Chain a week ago...I've had the border fabric since the beginning but it needed something else...
I found the gray stripe yesterday. I think it works. This was a very challenging quilt to make, but I didn't have to use my seam ripper at all. Amazing.
My second finish is the Charm Pack Cherry Quilt pattern by the Fat Quarter Shop. This is a fun easy quilt to make.
And I love the background fabric...Super Hero fabric.
But I feel like it needs something more...not sure what but more. How would it look if I added 3-5 narrow borders in the solid colors?

Perfect choice of inner stripe border print! It really adds interest. Your super hero is so sweet too...do you have enough of the main print to pull out to border area?
Your Island Chain is gorgeous! Great choices for the borders. Nice work! And the Superhero quilt is very fun. I might think keeping the borders busy (as in some kind of pieced border) with a solid color inner border would be worth a look.
That little stripe is a great addition to Island Chain. I've been resisting the charm pack quilt so far but really like all the quilts I've seen. Cute! Go for the borders.
I love both of these :-) Island Chain is one I'm interested in making. Your version puts it higher on my list :-) I like the other quilt as is, no borders. Borders would look nice too, but I think it looks nice as is. I'm on a no border kick though, so maybe it's a phase for me :-)
I love that first quilt top...had a friend who made it, or one very similar to it. And I have watched the tutorial to that one from the Fat Quarter shop a time or two here lately. Maybe in three or four weeks I will be settled down and can really start and finish something. Right now, I am not even blogging. Just check in now and again on blogs I visit regularly.
