Oops

I started working on the first two Wensleydale blocks...and sewed them wrong (both blocks) ...unsewed them (both blocks), sewed them correctly (both blocks) then trimmed them wrong...both blocks in different ways. So frustrating. I said a few bad words (I really do have a potty mouth), whined (and had a glass of wine), and pouted. I also totally lost my enthusiasm for the project and all other sewing.

My guild had their quilt show this past weekend. I entered Wind Drifter - the first quilt I've ever entered into a show.

The ribbon is an Honorable Mention. The comments I received from the judge were interesting and positive. The only negative was on my points and seams matching up. Fair enough. I've always been a believer that if you can't see it from a moving train it's fine.

Earlier this year I went to a quilter's estate sale. One item I bought (I think I paid $5 for everything) was this finished quilt top that included the backing and binding fabric.

My picture doesn't do the quilt justice. It has some very rich browns and golds. It will be donated to my Q4K group.

Angela belongs to a national Quilts for Kids organization. A Moda fabric and pattern designer lives in the area and regularly donates sample fabric and blocks from her new designs to their free table. The members are allowed to take them and use them however they want. Angela gave me a few of the finished blocks and some scraps that she had picked up then decided she didn't want.

I don't have many small quilts or table runners that say "Spring". So last month I made a little wall hanging and table runner using some of the already made blocks.

Pretty much brainless sewing. I had fun quilting both this past week.

Now I need to put my big girl panties back on, stop pouting and start working on Wensleydale again.

You make me ashamed of myself......I don't have anything to show as completed in the sewing the dept. I have made two pto holders and a hotpad ...that is all I have made and finished...Oh, and a little quilted thing to go on the back of Roger's recliner. I would say that is it for the past 8 months.

I Wind Drifter...I know I say that every time but I love it's name for one thing, and really love the fabrics you used.

The other projects are so cute and they do say 'spring' don't they. Love the binding you used.

It’s such a frustrating day of sewing when we make mistakes. I’ve picked stitches out, only to resew it the same Wrong way again. Cute spring runner. I like those flowers too.
