Project Quilting 16.3 Common Blocks

Rule one of this week's challenge was: You must incorporate three (3) common blocks in your project. I originally thought three of the same block when I read the challenge description.

Then I started second guessing myself. But I had already cut everything out. So I turned the half square triangles into three different common blocks: pinwheels, broken dishes, and flying geese.

The quilt is a variation of Happy Go Lucky from Quick'n Easy 3-Yard Quilts. The fabrics had selvage dates of 1999 and 2000! The back is the same fabric as the front, and I still had almost a yard left over.

Happy Go Lucky would be a good name for that fabric. It makes me happy just to look at. This is a great quilt...the quilting looks wonderful.

I keep meaning to tell you, in regards to the last challenge you did of the mythical creature...you know what popped into my head right away as a mythical creature was 'the perfect quilt'...but realized I could not make one because cannot even complete a perfect block.

I had the same confusion about whether the blocks needed to be different, but used that to my advantage. That is a great idea to make three rows of blocks like that. A wonderful submission for the challenge.
