The green and cream half square quilt top is done. I decided at the last minute it needed to be a bit bigger and have another spin. I really like it but part of me wishes I'd taken the time to have the lines flow into the second spin instead zig-zag. I had a hard time working the second spin in, by the time I figured it out it was late and I was grumpy.

I have lots of quilting to do. I ran out of safety pins or the pile would be bigger. I took the Juki off the frame so I can use it to quilt the butterfly quilt.

And I have a finish! Even the binding is done. I quilted Picnic with double loops in a sage green thread. This is not a big quilt but it took three spool of thread for the top and bobbins.  Are they putting less thread on spools? I emptied one spool filling four bobbins then ran out of bobbin and top thread with about 10 inches of quilt left. I swear my larger quilts didn't take that much thread.

My adventure for the week:

My tire blew out on the highway at about 8 p.m. Not too bad as I was already slowing down to take the next exit. Thank goodness for a large shoulder on the road, the Highway Patrol, CSAA and a good spare tire. I was back on the road in 30 minutes.

We've had a lot of fires in my area. Below is a very pretty, very smoky sunset.

I love the zig zag! I thing you made the right choice! Nice Picnic quilt. Glad your adventure didn't take too much out of your day and you are safe :-)

Your zig zag looks wonderful. A blown tire is scary. I'm glad all turned out well.

These fires are so devastating! We are in a tinder box area too but have been blessed with successful fireman getting the little fires we have had put out quickly. Northern California and those brave firemen are continually on my mind.
Your tire blow out must have been scary! Glad you were safe and on the road quickly so you could get back to these lovely quilts. Your finish is gorgeous and your zigzag topper is striking!

I am so glad you were slowing down when the tire happened! As the zig zag...and or flow...I like the zig zag just fine. I almost think it makes it more interesting. An I love Picnic...

We have had a south wind so have not had the smoky skies from Canada. Love the green and white quilt great arrangement of the simple hst. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. we were on our own in Scotland, with relatives in Ireland and they drove us everywhere so nice. We did go on 2 bus tours in Scotland, one to the Isle of Skye which was wonderful had a great bus driver who was very knowledgable about the area and history. The other was a day tour to the borderlands and Rosslyn Chapel also a great tour guide. We walked almost everywhere in Edinburgh and Inverness a bus or a taxi when it was raining hard.
