Material Girls of Shady Cove Quilt Show
I went to a local quilt show a few weekends ago. There were some beautiful quilts and the featured quilter had some some fantastic quilts displayed.
This quilt won Viewer's Choice last year...LOVE it.
Here are a few others I liked:
Love anything Kim Diehl...
I saw a tutorial for this quilt recently, I really liked this version.
I know I've mentioned this before, one of the things I really like about quilting is how two people can make the same quilt...
...and they will look totally different...
This is my type of wedding ring quilt - no curves!
The next few pictures are quilts made by the featured quilter...
And dorky me didn't get her name.
Her work is fantastic.
All of them had lots and lots of piecing.
The show also had a boutique with lots of hand made items. I picked up this little quilt made with wonderful fall colored homespuns for $10!
My mom and I went to a locally produced play called Quilters. They used quilt block names to tell the story of the life and hardships of pioneer women in the midwest.
Before I moved here I picked up three quilts from my longarm quilter, I finally got the binding added to one. It is officially finished!
My mom kinda sorta lives in the booneys. This buck has been following and chasing the little doe for days.
I've also been making a few more of my trinket boxes for a craft fair coming up this weekend. I've already sold one.
I'm hoping this coming week will be a little quieter than the last few so I can get some serious sewing done.

I love that Wedding Ring too! There are a lot of pieces in the featured quilter’s quilt. I hope you get some sewing time in this week.
That was a lovely quilt show! I love the Autumn colored quilt you found.
We had that same play, Quilters, here in Cambria and we went to see it in the summer. It was an interesting experience...kind of long and not what we expected though I'm not really sure what we WERE expecting. A story of some harsh experiences for women.
Your mom's home looks like a peaceful spot. You are doing well hanging in there till your own home comes available. I hope you are done with the cleaning out and able to stitch more. Hugs to you and Bella.
Oh, what beautiful quilts. It would be hard for me to choose a favorite. And yes, it is amazing what a difference choice of fabrics make.
