This is me doing the happy dance!

I started a new job today! I have been unemployed for over a year and was starting to get really discouraged. It has been less than two weeks between the interview and my first day working. I am working for the State of California in downtown Sacramento. That is about a 35 mile one way commute...yuck. I am on the wait list for the parking garage in the building where I work. A parking garage is available about three blocks away; parking cost me $20 for the day...double yuck. Tomorrow I start taking the commuter bus, which means I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. (I normally don't go to bed until 2:00 a.m.)...triple yuck.

But having a new job...bazillion YIPPPPEEEESSSSS!!!!!!

Good for you. I am amazing at the price of parking. But you do what you have to do. Hope you went to bed early last night. Good luck.

I'm sure you will make the needed adjustments regarding bedtime and wake-up time. Good luck with the new job!!!

Congrats! Employment has its pros and cons, doesn't it? Hope the parking spot opens up soon and that the job makes it worth the effort. I get up at 4:20 am but it beats working the night shift.
